Dear Friends and Students
I hope you all had a great Summer. Some of you went to music camp, or even Berklee (yeah!), performed for the first time onstage.
Some of you kept up the practice on-line, some with a more relaxed Summer approach.
Some of you kind of slacked off, and that is great too. Live your life.! That will in turn enrich your music. I'd like to hear about your Summer in musical terms. Concert you saw, chords you learned...(please comment)
I have discover some great inspiring new music (from movies mostly) that in turn inspired new innovative ways of teaching-Teaching by doing (Meaning Jamming. I want to include more actual playing together during the lesson time.
My Summer had some good challenges: Live scoring a series of Jean Renoir silent films & suddenly joining a rock band to tour Canada for 10 days.
I thought : jolt yourself out of the routine !, Blast past the comfort Zone,! Practice what your Preach.. and so forth. Had to learn a new set in a short period while getting re-acquainted with the electric beast.
(No I did not practice new moves in front of the mirror, thought that that could be next ;)
I am very happy also about a rare new binder size that Its particular size accommodates both landscape and vertical sheets, so the study of Harmony and songs by keys will becomes more organised and clearer. I ordered a few-very high quality ..The little things in life !
Looking forward to hear from you ,and to sit down, going at it with a renewed rage , I mean passion,
Ch'Ears, Bertrand
