Making stuff up freely on the guitar

I cannot think of many things more fun that making stuff up freely on the guitar.
Call that noodling, its okay.
I like to see folks do that too, and that motivates me to help you, dear student, do the the same.
Where to start ?
Well you can start now and make stuff up not knowing what you're doing and that is fine.
You can also make stuff up knowing what you're doing, but the element of surprise is not really there..
So the idea is to maybe start safe, but to stretch and follow the muse, no matter how crazy she may be.
That means obeying creative impulses fast enough to escape the shackles of anticipation(Thinking) judgment(Crippling feeling).
Yes, spontaneous creation is instant, and much faster than thinking.
I heard once that we cannot think and feel at the same time, so go for the feel and surprise yourself.
Also, if you ground that noodling in a feeling, be it a physical beat, or a mood or emotion , that feeling will give your exploration momentum. At any level, simply give yourself permission.
